This is a Hello Kitty Figurine made of beautifully colored Ocean Jasper. She is 4.5" x 3.5" and weighs 2LBS 5.6OZ. She is very large and heavy. She is a beautiful piece of ocean jasper.
Hello Kitty is a symbol of friendship, which they hope she will foster between people across the world. There has been speculation that Hello Kitty has her origins in Maneki Neko, a traditional Japanese cat figurine. She doesn‘t have a mouth so that people who look at her can project their own feelings onto her face, because she has an expressionless face. Kitty looks happy when people are happy.
In keeping with its symbolism, ocean jasper is said to provide calm, uplifting energy to the holder in trying times, feeding into a more optimistic outlook on life. The stone aids clearer communication, and enhances self-confidence as well as self-insight. The ore is found in a remote location on the northwest coast of Madagascar near the town of Ambolobozo. The mine is only accessible at low tide and the jasper is carried by ox- driven carts to small boats, which sail to the nearest town; from there, it is shipped to the factory.
Ocean Jasper is a type of rhyolite known for its unique patterns and vibrant colours. Rhyolite is an igneous rock formed through volcanic activity. Ocean Jasper which can only be found in Madagascar is described as an orbicular jasper. These materials are characterised by their distinctive orb-like patterns.
The patterns can vary in size, colour and arrangement. This creates a unique and fascinating appearance. The circular patterns are the result of quartz or feldspar needle-like crystals that come together to create spherical structures.
Orbicular jaspers can be found in many countries around the world but the variety correctly known as Kabamby Ocean Jasper can only be found on the north west coast of Madagascar.
The colours in ocean jasper come from various mineral inclusions. Red comes from iron in the form of hematite, yellow or grey is clay and shades of brown are mostly goethite
