Dalmatian jasper, also known as dalmatian stone or dalmantine, is a quartz-based gemstone with white or grayish rock and black or brown spots. The spots are caused by spherical mineral assemblages that are usually less than 4 mm in diameter. The stone gets its name from miners who noticed its resemblance to the coat of a Dalmatian dog.
Dalmatian jasper is often mined in Chihuahua, Mexico. It has been used in the past to make talismans and statuettes for protection in Greek and Egyptian civilizations. Today, it's commonly used in jewelry for its unique mottled appearance.
Some say that dalmatian jasper has many benefits, including:
• Joy and fun: Encouraging playfulness and self-expression
